Building a Regenerative Future Together

The first Kootenay Resilience Festival was an incredible success! A new impact festival combining music & creative with regeneration and community-building in the Kootenay region. This year’s festival featured engaging panel discussions on topics such as automated homebuilding, vertical farms, shared mobility and decentralized energy. It included tiny homes, permaculture design, natural building, local farmers, micro/modular housing, solar/wind/micro hydro, passenger drones, bike/car share and co-ownership of land. With a strong focus on affordable and regenerative living solutions, the event brought together local and global experts to explore new ways to create climate-resilient communities through hybrid offline/online engagement.

The event was livestreamed, available online to watch again and everyone can vote online for the solutions they would like to see in the bioregion, allowing a broader audience to participate and engage in meaningful dialogue about our shared future.

But the festival doesn’t stop here. It serves as a catalyst for ongoing action and innovation in our region. This winter, we are planning for deep engagement with residents, experts, and stakeholders to co-create actionable strategies for 2025 and beyond. Stay tuned for more events and opportunities to get involved as we work together to build a more regenerative and climate-resilient future for the Kootenay region.

Why is this critical? The Kootenay Resilience Festival is more than a gathering; it’s an urgent call to action to crush the costs of living for all. By developing innovative, decentralized solutions for food, energy, housing, energy, and mobility, we aim to create pathways that reduce financial burdens on families and individuals. Low-cost housing, shared mobility, local energy and food technologies are key components that can help us build self-sufficient, resilient communities where everyone can thrive. Together, we’re reimagining how we live and co-create in a way that makes life more affordable, equitable, and sustainable for all.
